How long does ImageToURL store my images?
Guest uploads are temporary and expire during monthly cleanup, with at least about two weeks before removal. Signed-in users can choose Never delete before uploading when they need a link to stay live.
ImageToURL has two retention modes. If you upload as a guest, the link is meant for short-term sharing and expires during the monthly cleanup cycle. The cleanup keeps guest uploads for at least about two weeks before they are eligible for removal.
If you need a link for documentation, a portfolio, a support ticket, or another long-lived place, sign in before uploading and choose Never delete. Those signed-in uploads have no scheduled expiry, though they can still be removed by you or for policy, abuse, copyright, or legal reasons.
We do not currently sell self-serve paid retention tiers, and we do not offer a public retention guarantee. Higher-volume or special retention needs are reviewed manually by request.
Active removal can happen in three cases: (1) a valid DMCA takedown from a rights holder, (2) content guideline violations flagged via our abuse-report form, (3) the uploader deletes their own signed-in upload from the dashboard.
We also don't sell or repurpose stored images. Your uploads aren't training data. They aren't sold to stock-photo aggregators. They aren't analyzed for advertising. Storage exists only to serve the URL you received at upload. You retain copyright on everything you upload.

What happens if ImageToURL shuts down?
We would make a best-effort announcement and give users time to save important files. You should always keep original copies of important images.
What if my URL gets DMCA'd?
We review the takedown, inform the uploader, and act according to the DMCA process. If your upload is removed, the URL returns 404. Uploader can file a counter-notice if the claim is disputed.
Can I export all my uploads?
There is no bulk export tool today. Signed-in users can manage uploads from the dashboard, and everyone should keep original files locally.
Does 'Never delete' mean forever?
It means no scheduled expiry is applied to that signed-in upload. No online service can promise eternity, and content can still be removed for user deletion, abuse, policy, copyright, or legal reasons.
What about GDPR 'right to be forgotten'?
If you're the subject of an image and didn't upload it, request removal via our abuse form. We review and remove if the claim is valid. Account holders can delete their own uploads from their dashboard.
Do you back up my images?
Images are stored on Cloudflare R2, but ImageToURL is not an archival backup product. Keep your original files for anything important.
Will old URLs format-change?
Issued URLs are designed to stay stable while the file is retained. Guest URLs stop working after expiry; signed-in Never delete URLs remain stable unless removed.
Can I get a longer retention guarantee?
There is no self-serve retention guarantee today. Contact us if you need a higher-volume or special-retention workflow reviewed manually.
