Image hosting for Reddit embeds that survive the crawler.

Reddit's native image upload works, but cross-posting, Markdown comments, and text-post embeds still need a real direct URL. Here's a host built for that — fast CDN, permanent links, no Imgur inactivity purge.

Why hosting matters on Reddit

Markdown embeds need direct URLs

Reddit text posts and comments accept inline images only if the URL resolves to raw bytes. Imgur album links, Google Photos links, Dropbox links all fail silently.

Imgur's 2023 purge

Anonymous Imgur uploads older than 6 months with no views now get deleted. For old Reddit threads that's catastrophic. ImageToURL doesn't purge.

i.redd.it isn't available via URL

You can't pre-upload to Reddit's CDN from outside. Reddit's native hosting only kicks in when you post from inside Reddit. Any other context needs an external host.

Cross-subreddit workflows

Moderators, wiki editors, and sidebar image authors all need stable URLs they can reference from multiple places without re-uploading.

How to embed

1

Upload your image

Drop the file here — get a direct URL on Cloudflare's CDN instantly. No signup required.

2

Paste into Reddit

In a text post or comment, type ![](paste-url-here). Reddit renders it inline. For image posts, switch to Link post and paste the URL.

3

Share anywhere

The same URL works in wikis, modmail, Discord cross-posts, and external blog posts linking back to the Reddit thread.

FAQ

Why doesn't Reddit let me paste any image URL?

Reddit's Link posts accept any direct image URL, but it has to resolve to raw image bytes — not an HTML page. Most 'share link' URLs from Dropbox, Google Drive, and Google Photos fail this test.

Does ImageToURL work in Old Reddit?

Yes. Old Reddit's Markdown supports inline images via ![](url) syntax. ImageToURL gives you a stable URL that works identically in both Old and New Reddit.

Will Reddit rehost my image?

If you submit a Link post with an image URL, Reddit sometimes mirrors it to i.redd.it. Sometimes not — depends on subreddit rules and the mobile app. Either way, your original URL keeps working as a fallback.

Any NSFW restriction?

ImageToURL doesn't allow adult content. For NSFW subreddits, Reddit's native upload or Imgur is the right path.

What's the max file size?

10 MB on the free plan, 50 MB on Business. Reddit's own image limit is 20 MB, so the free tier covers 99% of cases.

Does the URL survive a subreddit ban?

Yes — the URL lives on our CDN, not Reddit's. If a sub bans you or removes a post, the image is still accessible via its direct link.

Can I use this in Reddit automod rules?

Yes. Any URL in an automod YAML works the same whether it points to imgur.com, i.redd.it, or imagetourl.cloud.

Does it track who views my image?

No analytics on free. Pro plan optionally logs per-URL view counts (aggregate only — no IPs).
